REMINDER :: JBT 3.3/JBDS 5.0 (Core) Beta3 branch remains frozen; trunk to freeze/branch next week for CR1

Just a reminder... All the stable_branch jobs for JBDS and JBT (Core Tooling) from the Beta3 branch are currently **DISABLED**. This means if you need something respun, you need to turn on your job (and all its downstream ones, too!) or let me know so I can do it for you. Otherwise it's assumed that tonight's respin will be the last build toward Beta3, barring any blocker issues found by QE, of course. Branch remains frozen, with the intent that we release Beta3 on or around May 15. Meanwhile, the code freeze & branch for CR1 is scheduled for May 16. -- As an aside, there will be a Beta2 branch/freeze for SOA Tooling soon, but that's as yet unscheduled. JBoss Tools 3.3 / JBDS 5 Beta3 respin status: we are blue again...

Based on the fact that build #137 was not red, I can almost confidently say there *will* be a Beta3a respin tonight. I just need to wait another hour or so for this build [1] to finish, and I can push it to the usual place for QE. [1] https://hudson.qa.jboss.com/hudson/job/devstudio-5.0_stable_branch.produc... The common.mylyn [4] stuff appears to be OK to leave in, but I still need a good build to verify the stuff works as intended. Proposed change to JBoss Tools' parent pom -- better support for SWTBot UI testing on OSX Jenkins slave

Currently, the parent pom [1] includes a profile which is enabled automagically on OSX when java.vendor.url=http://www.apple.com. This simply sets the following systemProperties property: -d32 -Dosgi.arch=x86 -XstartOnFirstThread However, this appears to be ignored/overwritten by Surefire when running tests. So, it's been proposed [2] that we instead use a new property, platformSystemProperties, which is null on windows/linux but takes this value on OSX: -d32 -Dosgi.arch=x86 -XstartOnFirstThread Before I make this change and break any of our consumers by removing the old systemProperties value in favour of the new one, I wanted to know if this was a Very Bad Idea from anyone's point of view, or in fact a simple tweak that affects no one (but in fact makes life easier for QE). I'll make this change in trunk some time next week, unless someone voices a concern in the JIRA [2] below. Thanks!
