[jbosstools-dev] org.jboss.tools.common.jdt* has maven enabled in the PDE projects ?

Two questions on $subject:
1) Is that really necessary ?
2) where does one get the maven/tycho connector to get rid of the "not covered by
lifecycle" crappy error ? (marketplace doesn't seem to have it)
