[Design of JBoss jBPM] - any jbpm version for java 1.4 ?

Hi, Is there any jbpm version for java 1.4.2? The doc for version 3 says that is for java 1.4.2 (http://docs.jboss.org/jbpm/v3/userguide/deployment.html ) but I downloaded the source and I found that they're using annotations ... I would just need a jbpm-jpdl.jar and jbpm-identity.jar that runs on java 1.4.2 , if someone can help me, my email is frequena at gmail com Any help would be nice. I developed an application thinking that the minimun requirement was java 1.4, as the doc said, but now I just found that is for java 1.5 thank you very much, in advance. [Design of JBoss jBPM] - Populating DropDown list from database in the Task form

Hi All, I want to populate dropdown list values from database table in the Task form. I know how to do in the JSF, first we have to declare Manage Bean in the faces-config.xml and use selectManyMenu for display. Bean will extract data from database that returns list of values. In JBPM processdefinition how to do this.? There is no faces-config.xml file when we created new processdefnition. One way is I have to edit faces-config.xml in the jbpm-console.war; Is there any otherway I can do this task. Extracting data from databse and showing those values in drop down list in the JBPM Task form. Thanks in advance... [Design of JBoss jBPM] - Java Activity not using Interface

Hi. The java activity in jbpm 4 uses a normal Java class, not like in jbpm 3 an Interface (ActionHandler). I am missing the interface a bit, even if this solution is also a nice addition. And Implementing Java-Logic in a Activity itself requires to add this special "ActionHandler" as own activity type, which is not what I want. It would be a good improvement to add the possibility for an handler in the java activity like in jbpm3. Or is this already planned? Or why not doing it? [Design of JBoss jBPM] - BPMN in jbpm4

Hi. Currently I port a sample process to jbpm4, so I play around with it a bit. I also prepare a blog entry for demonstrating it. First of all: Nice looking Designer! Good job :-)) But I have some issues and questions with the BPMN used in jbpm 4: Violation of Spec - Multiple leaving flows in a activity with XOR semantic. This is not BPMN, BPMN has AND semantic but allows for conditions on the outgoing flows. The behaviour implemented makes sense if you know jPDL, but it is not correct BPMN. I think this is somehow problematic - End which terminates Executiuon only. For this end the End-Event should be used, not the Termination-Event (which is only a signle circle). With the termination event BPMN specifies that the whole process instance is terminated. Missing stuff A lot of stuff is still missing: Attached events, Pools, Lanes, a lot of events (like message, compensating, ...). The question here is: To what extend will the missing features be implemented? Is this one of the goals? Or not? I am not currently up to date here, maybe I had to leave Antwerp to soon :-/ Will spec-conformability be targeted? Or is BPMN more for nice looking diagrams and marketing? HI. First of all one easy question: Feedback about jbpm 4 and discussions will go on in this forum, right? Or PVM? One thing Thomas already wrote which I lso think about: What about the term "execution"? This somehow replaced the "token", but I am not sure if that is a good idea. ProcessInstance and Token was more or less easy to explain and straight forward. Execution is not that clear... So I would like to see ProcessInstance and Token again, but I think that would cause a lot refactoring. What are your thoughts? Or is it decided already anyway? Indeed. JPA should be the intersection. I missed the Hibernate, JPA, iBatis bit. An abstraction layer on top of JPA would be a crime :-) We agreed on JPA back in Antwerp if I recall correctly. No mention was made about who or when, tough. I would not mind, but the short term priorities are elsewhere. In any case it has to be there before GA, otherwise it will be impossible to switch later. But it should be JPA, not a own abstraction... And I think it was agreed to use JPA in jbpm 4 unless we find any real showstopper?
