I don't understand the problem. The JSF implementation is provided by your app
server, not by Seam.

Asynchronous mail has been broken for quite a long time. According to JIRA-3187 the fix
is to upgrade JSF. Unfortunately issue seems to have been forgotten (marked as Out of
Date), Seam still has JSF 1.2_09BETA1.
