Alex Savitsky commented on JBSEAM-2732:
---------------------------------------
Well, what about those of us that don't use any component frameworks at all? Say, I
have two apps like that, and was planning to get rid of Tomahawk in the third, too -
because after trying Tomahawk, Trinidad, RichFaces, and IceFaces, I personally found all
of them either not being anywhere near production quality (RF), or with serious
limitations (Trinidad, RF & IF), or just plainly bloated with tons of useless stuff
and poorly maintained (Tomahawk, the bloated part applies to the other ones too). So, yes,
I'm still using Seam's date picker and file upload, am quite happy with it, and
find an idea of slapping down several megs worth of component frameworks (not to mention
the always entertaining task of integrating them) just to have a date picker - kind of an
overkill. So, personally, I'd rather still have it in Seam - as a matter of fact,
I'd rather pull it out of the old Seam codebase than switching to any of these
component monstrosities, if this component gets removed from Seam...
Regards,
Alex
