I've added this through p:textcolumn. The drawback here is that that textcolumn requires a left and right boundaries for the text column, as shown below. p:textcolumn will default these to reasonable values for a letter sized page, but in general they should be set explicitly. <p:textcolumn left="400" right="600" direction="rtl"> <p:font name="/Library/Fonts/Arial Unicode.ttf" encoding="Identity-H" embedded="true">Arabic: {phrases.arabic}</p:font> </p:textcolumn> There do appear to be many limitations on where a text column can be used, and we'll have to work with the itext guys to understand/overcome any issues.
