Could the component ID warnings be caused by the use of c:forEach in
preferencesEditor.xhtml?
I seem to recall something warning about combining the facelets JSTL tags with
"regular" JSF components.

Use label tags to improve the usability of the forms, especially for
checkboxes/radiobuttons. The "Exact Phrase" checkbox on the find screen and the
Account preferences are a few examples.
