It would be better if the cell value was empty in the case of nulls, just like JSF's and Facelets' <h:outputText value="#{aNull}"/> outputsan empty string when encountering nulls. Workaround described below, but it gets very tedious adding null checks for hundreds of cells across multiple worksheets.
