Mike Quilleash reopened JBSEAM-1169:
------------------------------------
This is similar but not identical to the other issue.
The other is about getExpressionString() returning null.
This is one is concerning this piece of code in ModelValidator
ValueBinding valueBinding = component.getValueBinding("value");
if (valueBinding==null)
{
throw new RuntimeException("component has no value attribute: " +
component.getId());
}
It is possible to have a null "value" valueBinding (sounds silly but does
happen).
Cheers.
ModelValidator throws exception when applied to component with no
value

Key: JBSEAM-1169
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-1169
Project: JBoss Seam
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Core
Affects Versions: 1.1.6.GA
Environment: Any
Reporter: Mike Quilleash
Assigned To: Pete Muir
There are some (albeit very unusual) cases where a UIInput component does not have a
value="#{.....}" binding. The ModelValidator throws a RuntimeException in this
case. Should just silently not validate if the valueBinding is not present.
