Or better generate MetaDataHelper class with static function which is exposed as EL
function and
takes name of entity class and name of the attribute as parameter and returns String name
for it so the users could
implement it their own way and do localization.

I have a patch which adds a toLabel(String) method on the Util class. The Util class
exposes utility functions to the freemarker templates used in generate-entities. This
function will be applied as such:
${util.toLabel(property.name)}
However, I don't want to create the patch against the freemarker templates yet because
it is going to need to happen in a lot of places and I want buy-in before I spend time
doing it.
Personally, I think this will be a very nice addition to seam-gen. Right now, you are in
programmer world when you look at the generated app because of all the camel case. Bosses
around the world will just love to see the smarts of dividing up these mashed together
words into something more legible for prototype apps ;)

This seems reasonable. Max, is this ok from a Tools perspective? I know you told me that
using java code from freemarker templates isn't always great for Tools.
You could use StringBuilder rather than StringBuffer.

the problem is we can't load the custom util class since seam-gen.jar is not on the
normal util class :( We had to copy it into our own class so it will break the tooling.
I'll try and get that fixed in the next release; ultimately I would actually prefer
that those seamgen methods were not separated out in separate jar.
Note: the best thing we could do is to add this tolabel functionallity to Hibernate Tools
since it is not only relevant for seamgen.
