I was trying to get remoting working with a project I am working on it was constantly
failing without any indication of error in the Seam debug window or the server logs.
The Seam debug window indicates that the server side request is being invoked and looks
fine but when testing the debug window just says response packet followed by nothing. My
server method code never gets hit.
After playing around with my existing project for a bit I decided just to try the bare
bones and the HelloWorld example in your head branch in cvs produced the same results. I
have been using DWR up to this point and has proven to be reliable. Since I'm using
Seam I would like to be able to use it for all the interactions including the JavaScript
AJAX interactions with introducing additional frameworks.

feature to have working with GlassFish and considering the adoption rate of GlassFish is
growing quite a bit it will be discouraging for a lot of people that attempt to use Seam

DWR at the moment.

Yeah I have been trying. I have been using IE since FireFox keeps giving me a 'Object
cannot be created in this context" code: "9' which I think is related to
Google Maps being embedded in a Facelets file. This sucks because Firebug is such an
excellent JS debugging tool and I can't find anything of similiar quality for IE.
Perhaps I can stub out the Google Maps stuff and see if I can get some more information.

I just tried the example in CVS and it DOES work on Glassfish v2 ...
One thing I can think of is that you might have forgotten to define the EJB ref links in
web.xml -- it is required by GF but not in JBoss. If I took out that definition, I will
see what you saw -- the response is waiting forever.
So, I will close this issue now as it is not a bug.

Alright, thanks Michael.
I will look into this again when I get into the office tomorrow. I know I encountered an
EJB lookup issue before that was related to the web-xml reference. The format of the link
was different from that you provided in the example. Could you give me the format you used
in the web xml?
One more thing, I know you guys are a busy but it would certainly be helpful in tracking
down problems like this if the remoting debug window could return any exceptions that
might be encoutered on the server or even if it could be logged in the server logs. There
was indication at all in either of these places that could help to identify the issue.

Seam I would like to be able to use it for all the interactions including the JavaScript
AJAX interactions with introducing additional frameworks.

DWR requires more configuration then Seam Remoting and I have no problem getting it to
work flawlessy with the instructions. There must be something missing that is required for
GlassFish. Since you have managed to configure and execute a working example in GlassFish
then if you could provide me with it I could compare the differences with what I have.

Notice that you have to have ajax4jsf installed for remoting to work properly on
