I am working on an unofficial version hosted using bzr at https://launchpad.net/jbraze/trunk. If you have bzr you can check it out using bzr co lp:jbraze The syntax is similar but not exactly the same as that definied by earier versions of the spec. I haven't written any docs yet (hopefully this weekend) but there are plenty of examples in the unit tests. I'm asking since Gavin's latest blogs indicate it is now "less interesting", but from a tooling perspective the xml based descriptors are the only way I know off where we can know about about components that are registered programmatically via the SPI and not by standard means.
