This version is a total rewrite of the go version into Python Twisted framework. The code is available at: https://github.com/mozilla-services/autopush There were many reasons for the code rewrite, however the principal was better memory handling for TLS connections. The new server is able to be run on a smaller, more afforable AWS instance as well as be able to handle a larger number of connections. Operation has passed QA and we expect no impact to existing services. We have identified several client based issues and are working to address them.
