Configuration visitor - Re: [JBoss JIRA] Commented: (ISPN-145) No transport and singleton store enabled should not be allowed
by Vladimir Blagojevic
Hi,
Galder and I talked about this offline. Time to involve you guys!
I just completed visitor pattern for our configuration objects. Visitor
is passed from root of configuration - InfinispanConfiguration object.
InfinispanConfiguration class has a new method:
public void accept(ConfigurationBeanVisitor v)
How do we want to integrate this visitor into existing structure?
1) We add a new factory method to InfinispanConfiguration with
additional ConfigurationBeanVisitor parameter
2) We …
[View More]leave everything as is and if there is a need to pass some visitor
we pass it to InfinispanConfiguration instance directly (from
DefaultCacheManager)
DefaultCacheManager will pass ValidationVisitor to
InfinispanConfiguration that will verify configuration semantically.
Regards,
Vladimir

Infinispan security?
by Joni Hahkala
Hi,
I was reading and watching presentations of Infinispan and it seems that
currently it is intended for use in secure environment, like data center
behind a firewall with other datacenters connected through secure links,
if I understood correctly. But deploying it in more open environment,
e.g. public cloud, could pose security risks. Manik said in a
presentation that the underlying Jgroups uses certificates (or can be
configured to use), and I would assume SSL. So, there is at least …
[View More]some
security in the Infinispan joins, leaves etc. Manik also told that there
has been some talk/plans already about the security in general.
I would be interested in hearing about these plans for security and to
see if there is possibilities for cooperation. I'm currently searching
for a PhD subject, I have background in grid security, and this work
sounds like it could be useful and interesting.
Cheers,
Joni

Reading data differs from a WAR deployment or an EAR deployment
by Sanne Grinovero
Hi all,
please have a look into http://community.jboss.org/thread/171521?tstart=0
while the title and environment point to Hibernate Search, the trouble
is not related to Search but to Infinispan core; in short it seems
that it all works fine when using an application deployed in a WAR,
but when using EJBs instead the index is not updated; in fact it seems
the index is updated (correctly written to) but the clients don't see
the updates and are stuck as if a very long REPEATABLE_READ.
You …
[View More]might recall from past discussions that the Lucene Directory
- requires batching
- thou shall not configure a TransactionManager on the caches used by
the Lucene Directory
or if you do, the transaction scope should be left to Lucene, not
having it join a containing transaction scope
So I didn't have time to try reproducing this issue yet, and likely
won't for a week at least, but is it possible that the batching layer
- which we know is calling into the DummyTransactionManager - is
actually connecting my batch to the real TransactionManager ?
Other possible explanations?
Regards,
Sanne

tccl usage in listeners
by Ales Justin
While working on OpenShift Flex Infinispan demo, we came across a TCCL setup issue.
---
Looking at the stack trace, and how listener is registered,
I don't see how Ispan+CDI integration can change this behavior:
Imo, it should be Ispan's job to properly change this.
e.g. wrap each listener invocation with listener' classloader as tccl
---
as imo it's not cdi integration's job
as it cannot change this
at least i don't see how
and same issue can happen for any other framework
where listener …
[View More]gets invoked, and that framework used later in the execution chain, depends on the right tccl
this issue only popped up due to cluster formation
as the other node's code is invoked via Ispan' distribution mechanism
1:48
in standalone you would always get this invoked via app' execution chain

Infinispan docs
by Pete Muir
Quick reminder to everyone - at the moment our docs have *not* been copied out for 5.0.0 - I am waiting on assistance from the JBoss.org team to do this. So until I give the word, please don't make changes incompatible to 5.0.0 to the docs!

All demos should be readily discoverable by RHQ
by Galder Zamarreño
Hi,
I want all demos to come with the following system properties so that they can be immediately, without modification, be discovered by RHQ:
-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=6996 -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false
I'm planning to do this as part of https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ISPN-1357
Anyone has any problems with it?
Cheers,
