I gather that TestNG runs test in parallel. Can I avoid it for the Cassandra tests ? The problem is not just about the filesystem but also TCP listen ports.

http://code.google.com/p/cassandra-maven-redist/ If you want to use JBoss' Nexus repo to push Cassandra artefacts, we could probably get you access to this. That repo in particular contains old snapshots and no releases of the various Cassandra artifacts. For now I'll go with my repo, we can find more durable solutions later.
