Are you referring to MemoryMXBean / MemoryPoolMXBean ? What do you mean
by not guaranteed ? Are you suggesting the notfications are not
implemented by all JVM vendors ?

When notifications are available, we should use them, otherwise polling
would be fine, I guess.
