I may support that API in web if there is demand. However, if this is
for non performance critical stuff, there is not going to be any
benefit, it would not be integrated with the Servlet container, only the
HTTP (and AJP ;) ) code would be used.

Just in case we are talking about different things, what Heiko is
referring to is the management API over JSON-HTTP requests. We stopped
calling it REST since that leads to confusion.
