Yes, docs need fix then.
For "not" and "exists", the parenthesis are optional only if what
follows is a single pattern. Otherwise, it is mandatory:
not Cheese() // ok
not( Cheese() ) //ok
not forall(...) // NOT ok
not( forall(...) ) // ok
