I agree the performance will be lover. By what? Few microseconds per request or few
seconds?
IMHO a simple wild card match can be even faster compared to the 1000 individual entries
that
will mimic the wild card purpose.
The other part I don't wish to comment.
I found that having some sort of wild cards matching is valuable thing because on does not
to
repeat the config changes twice or multiple times.
Further more it is present on many places even inside the Servlet specs.
I'm not saying that the provided patch is correct, but at least it's concept is
"user-fiendly"
