[JBossCache] - Re: Need to refresh the JBoss treecache periodically

Writing and deploying services in JBoss AS is covered in Chapter 2.4 of the 4.0.4 version of the JBoss Application Server Guide, available at http://labs.jboss.com/portal/jbossas/docs. The various *-service.xml files found in etc/META-INF of the JBoss Cache distribution are actually service deployment descriptors that will deploy a cache in the AS as a service. Suggest you start with one of those as a template and modify it to configure your cache. Then add a second mbean in the same file to deploy your service that creates the timer thread, etc. Use dependency injection to inject the cache into your service; i.e. in your mbean declaration add: <depends optional-attribute-name="TreeCache">myco:service=MyCache</depends> The above assumes your service exposes an mbean attribute named "TreeCache" and that the object name of your cache is "myco:service=MyCache". [Beginners Corner] - IMG not displaying the image

I am running a J2EE App on Liunx OS with JBOSS 4.0.2 I have image files in the Filesystem folder (not within the Webserver). My images loated in /home/myfiles/ How can I load this image to bowser with IMG tag. If I am using then the file not displaying. How can I do this. I need to keep the image files in another folder externally and display it in the JSP page. Please help. [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - How to assign roles based on a request parameter without sub

JBoss 4.0.4-CR2 A user has already been authenticated before accessing my application's servlet. This authentication is evidenced by setting a parameter to one of several predetermined values in the request. I could use the value of this parameter as a username. I can assign this user certain roles through the roles and password files as a Form authentication would do using UsersRolesLoginModule. I need to have this authentication available to EJB's downstream as well. So, how can I do this without submitting a form? It seems that similar issue has been discussed in this forum but I couldn't pick out a clear solution. I am open to other suggestions too. Thanks in advance! When you say "build" I'm going to assume you mean "run". If you want to try to build JBC from source without JGroups, well, you're on your own :). TreeCache imports classes from JGroups, so I don't think you can run it without jgroups.jar on the classpath. (You can try, but I don't think it will work.) However, if you configure your cache with property "CacheMode" set to LOCAL, JBC will not start a JGroups channel, so JGroups won't actually be used. To avoid use of aop, just use plain TreeCache rather than PojoCache (formerly known as TreeCacheAop.) I pretty certain that if you just use TreeCache you didn't even need to have jboss-aop.jar on the classpath. Hello Brian, I got the j2ee-1.4-doc-tutorial from Sun, the jbossj2eesrc.zip and jbossj2ee-clustering14 from JBoss (http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/getting_started/...). The example without the clustering-extensions is running very well. The deployment of the clustering demo was OK, but I cannot logging in, because of the error. Where can I get a demo application for looking how clustering in JBoss is working, because we want to use it in a production environment? JBoss Cache is very much designed for the situation you describe. The problem with the hashmap approach is, as you say, the data can be changed. Maybe not frequent, but can happen. If it is changed, you need to reliably communicate that to all the servers in the cluster so they can update their hashmap. [Installation, Configuration & Deployment] - JavaMail: configuring the Jboss MailService for multiple acc

Hi all, i am trying to make an webbased email application. I thought i could use JavaMail for all SMTP&POP3 operations. JbossAS is providing an JavaMail implementation known as "MailService"!? I found, in the WWW and this forums, information how to configure this Service (file: mail-service.xml) and how to obtain the JavaMail Session (@Ressource - Annotation). But it seems to me that with the JbossAS-MailService it is only possible to create one Email-Account per JbossAS installation!? As i want to make an email application for 30 to 50 people using an web interface, i would like (at runtime for every single (mail)session) to tell JbossAS which eMail Account with wich username and password to use (With "normal" JavaMail implementations this is possible as I can set properties for retrieving the Session). Is that possible with JbossAS? Or do i need beside the JbossAS to install another JavaMail implementation?? Thx for answers and proposals!
