[JBoss Seam] - Wish: Seam Debug Page support for Hibernate Errors...
by henrik.lindberg
I made a mistake in my code and inserted something that violated a uniqie constraint. I got a seam debug page up, but it did not contain any useful information (like the exception). Looking in the JBoss log I found the output below.
The interesting fact here - that a constraint was violated is the interesting piece - would it be possible to get the JDBC errors into the debug page?
Regards
- henrik

[JBoss Seam] - Re: Seam in a J2EE Environment
by neilac333
Thanks, Gavin. If I may ask some follow-ups on those points:
1) Aren't Seam interceptors only relevant to EJB 3? It is my understanding that interceptors aren't available to POJO's except through AOP constructs.
2) I definitely anticipate needing support for EJB 2 integration in the future given that I will have to interact with a web service layer, but the need for me isn't immediate. Certainly in the next few months though.
3) I was looking at legacy docs, so I was unaware of the new precedence value called MOCK. Thanks for pointing that out.
I must say that the only thing that rivals the creative effort behind Seam is your own personal attention to the needs of the Seam community. Kudos once again to you and your team.
Thanks again.

[JBoss jBPM] - Strange behaviour running with MySQL in JBoss server
by ghinwa
I have been trying to use jBPM inside the App server, using MySQL. inside my jar file, in hibernate.cfg.xml I have the following:
| <property name="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect</property>
| <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class">com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</property>
| <property name="hibernate.connection.url">jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/jbpmdb</property>
| <property name="hibernate.connection.username">sa</property>
| <property name="hibernate.connection.password">sa</property>
|
and in the session bean method I create the JbpmContext, perform some process definition deployment, and then close the context. Everything seems to work well and the process definition gets stored in the db.
However, when I try to specify the db connection as a data source, i.e. change the config in hibernate.cfg.xml to the following instead:
| <property name="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect</property>
| <property name="hibernate.connection.datasource">java:/JbpmDS</property>
|
and create a datasource definition in the deploy dir containing:
| <local-tx-datasource>
| <jndi-name>JbpmDS</jndi-name>
| <connection-url>jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/jbpmdb</connection-url>
| <driver-class>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</driver-class>
| <user-name>sa</user-name>
| <password>sa</password>
| <exception-sorter-class-name>
| org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.vendor.MySQLExceptionSorter
| </exception-sorter-class-name>
| <metadata>
| <type-mapping>MySQL</type-mapping>
| </metadata>
| </local-tx-datasource>
|
and I run the same code, I notice that the process data in the jbpm_processdefinition table contains NULL in the STARTSTATE_ field (but the remaining fields for process name, version, etc. are populated properly).... Any subsequent attempt to instantiate a process based on this definition fails (due to the null in the foreign key I suppose)
I have tried adding to hibernate.cfg.xml the following:
| <property name="hibernate.transaction.factory_class">org.hibernate.transaction.JTATransactionFactory</property>
| <property name="hibernate.transaction.manager_lookup_class">org.hibernate.transaction.JBossTransactionManagerLookup</property>
| <property name="jta.UserTransaction">/UserTransaction</property>
|
with the side effect of not having to close() jbpm context... however the erroneous behaviour above persisted...
Any insight into this would be appreciated. I am new to jBPM, have read the tutorial and searched TFF :) however may have missed something obvious....
Thanks.

[EJB 3.0] - problems with JEE aplication on jBoss
by rogbaldini2
Hi guys,
I have been a lot of serious problems related to EAR with EJB3.
I have gotten a jee application (1 web module e 1 ejb module) that runs on Glassfish and tried to run on jBoss.
I have been a lot of problems...
I believe that the main problem is related to ClassLoader.
When I try a lookup in my local ejb, I always have a ClassCastException.
If I delete the local interface of lib of war, it works in lookup but happens agains in other parts. (including linkerror).
A lot of things were tried without success. My main focus was the configuration of META-INF/jboss-app.xml.
<jboss-app>
<loader-repository>myapp:app=myapp.ear</loader-repository>
</jboss-app>
But it's stil not working.
I am using jBoss 4.2.
This is my application structure:
META-INF/
aplication.xml
jboss-app.xml
MANIFEST.MF
app-entity.jar (application entities)
app-model.jar (ejb)
commons.jar (generic things, local and remote interface's )
app.war
WEB-INF/lib
app-entity.jar (application entities)
app-model.jar (ejb)
commons.jar (generic things, local and remote interface's )
I don't know what to do anymore.
Please, help me.
Thanks,
Roger

[JBossWS] - Re: WS-Security: keystores and truststores
by PeterJ
Thanks again, Jason. I tried this for encryption (and your suggested additions to support signing by updating both truststores so that they contain both public keys) and it worked. I think I now have a little better understanding of the role of the truststore in this scheme.
For those of you following along at home (or at work), when Bob sends a message he uses Alice's key to encrypt the message but his key to sign it, so the config section of jboss-wsse-xxx.xml file looks like:
<config>
| <sign type="x509v3" alias="bobs_key"/>
| <encrypt type="x509v3" alias="alices_key"/>
| <requires>
| <signature />
| <encryption/>
| </requires>
| </config>
Of course, on Alice's machine, the aliases are the opposite. If you don't want to sign the messages, remove the < sign > and < signature/ > tags.
