1. Assuming that your client is a standalone application, the project should not have been created as an EJB Project, but a normal Java project. 2. I tried exporting an EJB Jar from my own project and it worked fine. If you could make a zip file of your project, I could take a look and see if there are problems with it. [JBoss Seam] - facesMessages.addFromResourceBundle charset encoding

Hi, I have iso-8859-1 characters in my messages.properties and they show up fine e.g. through outputText but when I use the facesMessages.addFromResourceBundle they get UTF-8:d on my JB4.2. Any suggestions? Without touching your application, this is not possible. We need to prepare your application for dynamic AOP, which can be done through the use of "prepare" pointcut expressions. However, if you use dynamic AOP with hotswap, the preparation step doesn't involve any change to your application's workflow, which means that its performance is not altered. Unfortunately, hotswap is not stable yet. In some cases of contant addition and removal of aspects at runtime it shows some problems. As a matter of fact, you can do this. You need to prepare your classes with a prepare pointcut expression before starting up the jvm. It seems like there is something wrong with your environment setup or pointcut expression... try to change little by little one of the examples of the tutorial, until you get to do something similar to what you're doing on your project.
