When you remove the class from the war, where else do you place it? I mean, where else inside the ear is the class placed? Are you placing it in some jar inside the ear? A probable solution will be - you can create a jar(lets name it common-util.jar) containing that class(and other such common classes) and place it inside the ear file and remove those classes from the war. There are effectively two distince states that the <new-connection-sql> and the <valid-connnection-sql> are designed to address. The former is in connection creation the latter is prior to a connection being handed out of the pool. The weird thing about your case is that it appears that the <new-connection-sql> has already been set being that the error you are seeing only happens on connection creation, and only in the event that the SQL statement cannot be executed. Have you tried using the JMSContainerInvoker for your integration, rather than the JBoss/JCA adapter. I don't have a copy of Sonic, so, I really can't try and determine the underlying cause of the problem. I just wanted to try an alternate appropach in the interim. Thanks for you response Jaikiran. About the question, I want to upload the file from a standalone client. I have two modules, a ejb-module and web-module and I want to upload image files to the Jboss server to process the images and save the information in a mysql database. I don't know if I can use a session bean (ejb-module) to connect the standalone client with the jboss server and I neither know how to save the image in the server. hi, I got a data transfer object that gets passed from an ejb to a jsp. If I do not put the class of my data transfer object in my war file, I get an error compiling the jsp because it doesn't find the class. If I do mut the class in my war file, i get the dreaded "loader constraints violated when linking..." exception in the servlet that got the dto from the ejb. I'm not sure but I don't think JCA is an option. I thing the JCA support may be available on for 6.1 and later. There is very little documentation out there on the 5.0.1 version. Even if there was a JCA-Adapter I'm not sure about the licensing. Currently we only have a license for the client libs. I'm not sure if the JCA would be covered by that.
