[JBoss Getting Started Documentation] - EJB Security Exception on AccountBean

I tried enabling security for the Duke's Bank application as mentioned in the Getting Started guide paragraph 4.3.1. When I added the security-domain element for the jboss-web.xml file for the web application, the login does work. Both using property files and using database. However, the Getting Started guide also says to add a security-domain element to the jboss.xml file in the EJB package. However, if I add the security-domain element there, I then get an EJB SecurityException after logging into the web app on the AccountBean EJB. Why isn't the EJB-level security working? It's the same exact line as the web app security, using the dukesbank security domain. I posted a complete example that works and does what you want. Just as Brad suggested, mine worked only with custom timers -- not created in the process definition. I later updated the process definition shown in order to get rid of the exception that I was getting. Anyways, all you have to do is add a node-enter event with the timer parameters you want. The startTime is a new variable I added that allows you to start the timer whenever you want. eg: startTime=23:59 and repeat=24 hours to start the timer at then next 11:59 pm, and every 24 hours there after. http://jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=92733 Good luck! JSF 1.2 Kickstart app on Jboss Portal / App Server

Hi, Hoping someone can help here. I'm using jboss 2.4 app / portal server bundled and can deploy the JSF portlet from the Getting Started guide in the portal container no problem. But I need to not only have portlets in the portal container but also webapps in the application server. I have read that is where JSF can come in handy and have multiple behaviors based on environment. So I found a good JSF1.2 example here that uses facelets: http://blog.exadel.com/?p=23 to get around Jboss' servlet container (tomcat) limitation of servlet 2.4. I can deploy this as an app on Tomcat 5.0 in a stand alone env. But the 5.5.17 version of tomcat bundled inside of jboss bails out. It throws ClassCastExceptions all over the place Bottom line, can anyone tell me definatively if JSF 1.2 apps will run on jboss-app server? if so.. how? Thanks -Brian

When I was using it (I abandoned it for various reasons), I set "preserveSort" to false. I'm embarassed to admit it, but I can't remember which problem that solved. However, I can say that I concluded that when you see the word "preserve" in a tomahawk component, it means "don't preserve it: replace it with something you don't want". This was particularly true of "preserveDataModel", which I see you've set to false (as I did after trying to figure out why my table model was reduced to just the displayed rows).
