[JBoss Portal] - Best way to do portal and EJB3?

Should I use portal 2.4.1.cr1 bundled with AS 4.0.4 and then add EJB3 jboss-EJB-3.0_RC9-FD.zip? or JBoss 4.0.4GA with EJB3 through installer and then add portal binary? or some other method?? I have tried the two first with no succes. The first one dosent work as stated in the docs. For instance i cant just run it - i have to "run -c all" and it pumps out loads of exceptions although the portal starts. The second method dosent work according to the portal docs. Is there some other way thats working but not documentet enywhere ?? "@EJB annotations are usable in servlets and JSPs, but unfortunately, we have not yet updated tomcat to support it. Also, Tomcat works with the old XML format so you cannot use XML either. So for now, you must lookup the EJB via its global JNDI name." It tells you how to use session bean reference from Servlet which will work with JBoss 4.0.x. I guess <ejb-ref> is for the legacy EJB 2.1 purpose and in 2.1, local & remote are mandatory. However, when I use NetBean 5.5 Beta2 to insert a Enterprise bean reference, it does add ejb-ref into web.xml so Sun has to address this issue. [JBoss Seam] - Converter breaks conversation

Hello! I have a conversation to approve some corrections done in the database. Everything is done within the same Seam component annotated with @Conversational. The component is initialized with a method "beginApprovement()" annotated with "@Begin(join = true)". This method fetches the needed data to approve, and initializes currect record etc. before displaying the view. Then the superuser can approve/disapprove records, and for each approvement the next record is displayed. This works really nice. The conversation is held until last record is approved or the user cancels by invoking a method annotated with @End. The problem appears when using a converter to map a date object directly to the view. The date is converted and displayed correctly in the input field, but if I write an illegal value that can't be converted to a date, everything breaks because it seams that the conversion is broken. The constructer for the Seam component is invoked, so the next view generation breaks because the initialized values are missing. Should this happen or am I missing something? Or could it be a bug? I'm using 1.0.1GA in a portlet enviroment. Hey guys, I haven't found the problem yet but it seams to me as if the libs I want to replace are in fact buggy. Replacing other ones on-the-fly seems to works.
