Just go back to the Seam examples, and start from there. The prolblem will be that you have some packaging or configuration that is different to the examples. do you have the overwrite enabled? In other words: will the value in the descriptor overwrite what's in the db? You need to enable the overwrite so that with each deployment / startup the value in the descriptor will be set as the current value.... [Persistence, JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Lob mapped to tinyblob on MySQL

Cannot make Jboss (Hibernate?) autogenerate tables with the Lob type I need for my type, which is byte[]. I have tried to annotate like: @Lob (type=LobType.BLOB) and @Lob @Column (columnDefinition="BLOB") without success. The column in question always get generated as tinyblob, which does not suffice for my blob data. I'm unable to locate any documentation that could guide me in this matter. I'm using Jboss 4.0.4GA, Mysql 4.1.11 and MySQL Connector 3.0.16. Greatful for any help here. [EJB 3.0] - EntityManager, annotation question

Hi, I have not been able to find any documentation on this, at least so far, I'm thinking that the solution is probably an annotation (which are new to me). I have a couple of objects that are extended from a base object, I store them all in one table "assets". It's only the classes logic methods that differ, all persisted fields are in the base object. I am not using the MappedSuperclass annotation because, from what i read the behaviour is not what I want, and it doesnt look like it will help me. I can persist the objects fine, and use the find() method; my problem occurs when I try to use the createQuery() method of entitimanager to read data out of the table "assets", the name "assets" has no class named the same, so I get an exception "assets is not mapped [from assets a]". How do I tell the Entity manager to map this class to a given class or interface without using a native query?
