Hi, how can I use HttpServletRequest.isUserInRole() in a Seam component. Is there a way to inject an HttpServletRequest in a component like @In HttpServletRequest request? If I can inject it, I could use request.isUserInRole() in the seam component.. thanks. I just added an @RaiseEvent annotation. Of course, another solution would be to use Contexts.getSessionContext().set("dataSource", dataSource) instead of outjection. OK, so the second problem looks like your programming bug, you have an @Begin method being called from the scope of an existing (task) conversation. So that looks easy. The first one looks to be something to do with transaction management, but without any code its pretty hard to tell. (1) show me the facelets page and the rendered="#{....}" value binding that causes the error (2) what happens if you completely remove this rendered attribute? (3) How are you doing tx management? (4) Please show me a debug-level Seam log. By the way, your log messages should be written like this: log.info("in new getDataFields for #{datasource.name}"); log.info("get dataField: #{dataField.name}"); Much cleaner. Hi all, I have a problem with an application running in JBoss-4.0.3SP1. The tested the application under JBoss-3.2.1-3.2.7 and everything works fine. In JBoss-4.0.3SP1 only the deployment of the application works fine. When I execute an action (for your information the application uses struts-1.0.2) then a ClassCastException: $Proxy76-Error appears. I doubt that this is the problem, but note that the combination of @DataModel and @Observer on the same method is very, very wierd and probably nonsensical.
