I am not sure what the IllegalStateException is, or why it is being thrown. JBoss/JCA would not throw this in the case that a connection cannot be used. Easiest thing to do would be to get a stacktrace/logs etc when the error occurs and post it. [JBoss Portal] - Where i can set the default window size to be maximum

Hi, I want my portlet window-state to be maximum by default . Where do i need to set this ? I tired in *-object.xml and portlet.xml by specifying | <supported-window-states> | <window-state>maximized</window-state> | </supported-window-states> | but it does not work . Yes I agree , its just the message that all the resources are freed up.In my application I have been connecting to database thru' servlets.But as the resources are freed up, everyday in the morning, when my run my application, I get the java.lang.IllegalStateException and on refresh I get the result as desired. After this the application runs fine whole day, but the same story following day. I close all the database connections after retrieving the data. So Can someone please help. Its urgent.... [JBoss Seam] - @Redirect exception - FacesMessages added twice

Hi all, I've upgraded to 1.1CR1 and started to use the @Redirect/@Render annotations for exception handling. My error.xhtml page that I redirect to contains this: <h:messages globalOnly="true" layout="table" styleClass="errors"/> I have a Seam action as a trivial test that simply throws my application exception, but I've found that the exception message gets added to the FacesMessages twice. I've done a small bit of debugging and seen that ExceptionHandler.handle() is being called twice, but I haven't been able to work out why, the stack trace is too convoluted for me to follow, due to interceptors. My next step is to run against the Seam source and try work it out, but I'm wondering if anybody has an idea. I have both the SeamInterceptor running against my action classes and I have the ExceptionFilter installed in my web.xml. [JBoss Seam] - Re: Timer issue just broke my site after a week of no issues

So this is still a problem. Can anyone tell me what would cause this error: ERROR [org.jboss.ejb.txtimer.TimerImpl] Error invoking ejbTimeout: javax.ejb.EJBException: java.lang.NullPointerException to occur only when the timed task takes more than a few seconds? And what I can do about it? I've googled, I've searched the forums, all to no avail. It looks like ejbTimeout is the method that is supposed to be called to execute the method when the repeating timer counts down? Since it looks like Seam is handling the layer between my code and the actual EJB timer stuff, I'm not sure what the issue is, and I suspect that trying to get help on the EJB forum would lead to confusion. All I know is that it breaks my site every few hours. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks! Yes you can. You should use jbpm 3.2 for building forms with diferents controls and interact with your own DB. Use the file forms.xml and build the files xhtml for every form defined in your forms.xml. That's what I thought. Therefore shouldn't his last code block work? If it is throwing the same error, as he seems to indicate, perhaps it's a larger problem. At least, under that assumption, I'm not sure how to change the earlier code to fix the issue. Google is your friend: http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=SetUpAMysqlDatasource shows how to use mysql under jboss in a couple of minutes. I can't help you with the hsql db manager, as I don't use hsql. Yes sorry, I mistyped servers instead of server. That is the directory you want. Assuming I don't want to read copious amounts of documentation, how would I do this with RoR? I'm just curious, as I've heard a lot about Rails (both good and bad). Anyhow, I will say, as someone who still doesn't have a solid grasp on much of JBoss, that reading documentation is a must for understanding a new technology, and that JBoss is likely to be VERY different than RoR, or any other non-J2EE Java based app server.
