Thanks Gavin. I downloaded the standalone microcontainer and included the jar files. The first exception disappeared but the second one (CNF: javax.jms.ExceptionListener) still occurred. Do you know where I can get the jar file to contain this class? PS: for some reason I don't want to get into, I can't use ejb3 for our application. Thanks. Hi, I have been looking into this for a while now, and wonder if there is a solution using XMBeans, and the twiddle command? I notice that if my management interface for the @service class implements getMBeanInfo() then this operations gets called. A quick update...I used TcpMon to sniff the soap envelope. Note that if by "different flavor", you really mean a different class, then the manager or factory component is definitely the way to go. (Manager component is the generic pattern for integrating things into the Seam environment that otherwise do not quite "fit". [EJB 3.0] - RC9 mappedBy and InheritanceType.JOINED problem

I want to upgrade to JBoss 4.0.5, but I cannot deploy my applications anymore. [JBossCache] - Re: NPE when using optimistic locking with JbossCache 1.4.0.

I am experiencing similar problems using JBC 1.4.0SP1 and JBC 1.4.1BETA using both hibernate-3.2.0 and hibernate-3.2.1. The NPE's have been replaced with a data version class mismatch. I traced for a while and it looks like when the OptimisticValidatorInterceptor validates nodes it runs into nodes in the workspace with a version object of type org.hibernate.cache.OptimisticTreeCache$DataVersionAdapter while the real node in the cache contains a version object of type DefaultDataVersion. One possible reason that the real nodes still have a version object of DefaultDataVersion is that the constructor for OptimisticTreeNode ignores the version passed in. It looks like there are some recent CVS commits to OptimisticTreeNode that update the constructor to use the version parameter. However, our DAOs are not publicly constructable, they are returned from one of our DAO factories, given a "product id" because we have different flavors of "Customer DAOs" depending on the context (productID) in which we are working. It's the nature of our business. Our code knows its productID, and simply does: DOAFactory.getFactory(productID).getCustomerDAO() However, our DAO's DO have setSession(Session) on them as well (override). So, maybe there is an answer somewhere using your approach, i've just got to figure it out. perhaps our seam components don't use our DAOFactory directly, but a Seam component that interacts with our DAOFactory, that will get the DAO and set the "injected" session into it ....
