javaee does not provide access to the roles. It only provides the ability to check if a user is in a role. Read about the Subject usage pattern in the security chapter to see how you can obtains the roles from the caller's Subject. Hello, I have a stateful SessionBean which should be a facade to my Entities, etc. It is declared as following: | @Stateful | | @Name("currentUser") | @Scope(ScopeType.CONVERSATION) | public class UserFacadeBean implements UserFacade { | public static final String LOGIN_SUCCESS = "login_success"; | public static final String LOGIN_FAILED = "login_failed"; | | @Logger | Log log; | | String username = new String(""); | String password = new String (""); | | public String getPassword() { | return password; | } | public void setPassword(String password) { | this.password = password; | } | public String getUsername() { | return username; | } | public void setUsername(String username) { | this.username = username; | } | | public String login() { | log.info("Trying to log in \"" + username + "\" with password \"" + password + "\";"); | | return LOGIN_SUCCESS; | } | | @Destroy @Remove | public void destroy() { | log.info("Destroying ..."); | } | } | I tried to deploy the application (faclets and ICEFaces), but the component was´t recognized by seam. So I tried to declare the component in components.xml. jmx and ejb are separate tech, and jmx certainly is not a replacement for ejb semantics. jmx should just be treated as a managment facade/aspect of a system written using another well defined tech such as ejb. [JBossWS] - Configuring web services in Jboss 3.0.8

Hi, we have Jboss 3.0.8 with tomcat 4.1.24, with jdk 1.4. Due to many reasons we can not upgrade our system to later versions of Jboss and jdk, hence we have to use what we have. Now I been trying to make a web service in it, I can not find a way to do so. JBossWS is good for Jboss 4.x or higher. I tried axis2, but since its a war file, and our application is in ear file, our application runs, and does not let anything in tomcat run. Can someone please suggest a way to make and consume web services in this scenario? At a minimum you need to be using 4.0.3SP1. Validation of the behavior under 4.0.5.GA would be the simplest test of whether this issue has been fixed as I believe it has.
