Currently, If I have a method: @Begin | public String startConversation() { | return null; | } When this method is called a conversation is not started. If I change the method to return non-null: @Begin | public String startConversation() { | return "thispage"; | } Then it works. This poses a problem for A4J where I want to return non-null so that only certain portions of the view are re-rendered. It would be great if it were possible to start a new conversation in this way - Would be more ajax4java friendly. This error happens when somehow your app is trying to load a class, and the classloader being asked to do it is a stale one left around from an earlier deployment of the webapp. Perhaps you redeployed the app but something is holding a ref to a class loaded from the previous deployment. A quick solution is probably to restart the server. Sorry I can't provide more details than this, e.g. how to find exactly what the cause is. Suggest you post on the tomcat forum here at JBoss, or on the tomcat-user mailing list. Be sure to mention what release you are running, as that *could be* very relevant. [Management, JMX/JBoss] - Scoped SAR deployed from conf/jboss-service.xml?

I have two MBeans: MBeanA and MBeanB (MBeanA depends on MBeanB). MBeanA's classes are loaded from JARs in the <server config>/lib directory, but because the timing of its deployment is important, it is actually listed in <server config>/conf/jboss-service.xml. MBeanB's classes are loaded from a scoped SAR. This is all well and good except that MBeanB is needed by MBeanA. I could use MBean dependencies to get this to work out except that would cause MBeanA's start method to execute much too late. Is there a way I can deploy a scoped MBean from <server config>/conf/jboss-service.xml? I have considered setting up another deployment scanner that would load before the deploy directory's scanner, but I am not sure that this will accomplish what I really want: MBeanA (and therefore MBeanB) must deploy extremely early in the startup process. No way to do this currently. One of the problems is this could lead to a creating a target POJO per client request, which would slow things down. Ideally, would be able to do as is done with ejb where server instances are pooled, but since ejb already does this didn't see it as being high priority (ejb3 does this with POJOs).
