Then I am not doing something right because when I do this: Context initial = getInitialContext(); QueueConnectionFactory cf = (QueueConnectionFactory) initial.lookup("jms/eRegQueueConnectionFactory"); I get a ClassCastException. When I check the class it is an instance of ConnectionFactory.
