[JBossCache] - Standalone applications and JBoss Cache

Here is my scenario: 1. I have a standalone java application that uses weblogic-connection pooling and the JBoss Cache for my data. 2. I therefore start my weblogic server (and therefore my connection pool is deployed). Please note that my application is not deployed - it is a standalone after all! 3. My jbosscache-config.xml is in my classpath 4. My application is started up. 5. I can see that the application and JBoss Cache are able to connect to the connection pool (that JNDI lookup works fine), and retrieve the data necessary. The exception I get is that I am unable to bind 'appcache' - which is my TreeCache JNDI name... Help please! If I convert this into a servlet, and deploy it WITHIN weblogic, everything works fine. I have put all the necessary jar files in weblogic classpath (modified startweblogic.cmd to include these jars). The xml is definitely found since I put in statements around that - and its working fine. Why is it that I cannot bind it? [Persistence, JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Service Layer Session Factory, JNDI and local

We are just getting started creating a web application using hibernate. Initially, we mapped our pojo's, and created a services layer that utilizes the Session factory based on the ThreadLocal pattern. With this cofiguration, we were able to run tests locally on my development PC to make sure the hibernate mappings and services worked correctly. I now want to deploy these POJOs (and services) as a HAR archive on the JBoss server. Up until this point, my services layer would use the local SessionFactory. Now when I deploy my services to JBoss I need it to get the SessionFactory via a JNDI lookup. However, I still want to be able to test the services locally on my PC. What is the best way to deploy our services layer to JBoss and have them use the JBoss SessionFactory but still be able to test the services locally on our development PCs? [Management, JMX/JBoss] - More information...

It looks like this is a class loader problem. The MBean manages to read a .properties file from the fuse package but can't load classes from the same package. I can manufacture the same stack trace on first deploy of the MBean if I don't add the fuse package classes to the jar file. If I don't add the .properties file to the jar file then I get a different stack trace. I'm guessing that the class loader isn't being configured properly when the MBean is deployed a second time. [EJB 3.0] - Version is not updated

Merge an entity whose @Value column is 100 and the database shows 101 as expected. Unfortunately the entity returned by em.merge still has value 100. Moreover, calling em.refresh returns an enitity whose value is still 100 even though the database clearly has 101. Consequently, trying to re-save that entity generates the following: javax.persistence.OptimisticLockException: org.hibernate.StaleObjectStateException: Row was updated or deleted by another transaction I am using MySQL 5.1 and JBoss 4.0.4 GA WORKAROUND: after saving the entity I query the entity manager and in that case the entity @Version column comes back with the incremented value. You need to deploy your EJB on all nodes to get clustering behavior; @Clustered doesn't do that for you. If there isn't one already, please raise a JIRA issue, JBoss Application Server project, Installer component re: the missing farm service from the "ejb3 clustered" option. To manually add farming, if you can get ahold of a standard "all" config, you can copy the deploy/deploy.last and farm folders into your config. Petemuir, how things going? Well, yeah, seems like it doesnt work with JSF1.2, Damn, is there any work arounds for this? I dont think I have the skills to check why it fails with JSF1.2, especially when everthing I use is kinda compiled :) Well, is there any work arounds to use meanwhile? or some other ways to handle multiple assignments via seam which is easy enough to manage?
