[Beginners Corner] - java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError in FidoBean Tutorial

Hi Everyone: I am new to JBoss, and I'm trying to work through the J2EE tutorial. I encounter the following error when I try to run XDoclet on my newly created session bean. xjavadoc/ant/XJavadocTask (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0) Also, I get the following error when I look at the XDoclet XML file "Task could not be defined within Ant Editor Context" The target tag is listed below. I wonder if I didn't install this correctly? I am running Eclipse 3.1.1 and JBoss 4.0.4 Any help would be greatly appreciated...I am excited to get started!! [JBoss Seam] - Re: Please help me understand DataModelSelection

For those of you folowing this saga, I have a hypothesis to explain the problem (take it with a grain of salt, though, since I'm a JSF/Seam newbie). In the original issues app, the injection of the data model selection is being done from within an Action event, during a phase in which the view containing the datamodel is active, and so the selection exists. In the modified app, any injection that happens is being done in the render phase of the new view, and the data model (and its selection) is long gone. The value returned by getSelectedIssue is whatever was last injected. So the moral of my story (if I'm not completely wrong in the above analysis) is that if I want the data model selection from a view, I must call an action that either a) is in the component containing the @DataModelSelection annotation, or b) makes a call to a method in that component. It seems clear that it must be that way, now that I know the answer. Sigh. Eventually I'll understand this enough to stop hurting myself. Depends upon what you want to load balance and what you mean by "clustering". If all you want to do is load balance webapp requests between a bunch of servers, and you don't need to replicate HTTP session state (i.e. you don't care if the user's session is lost if they fail over from one server to another), then you don't need to use any of JBoss AS's clustering features -- you can just run the default config. Otherwise, you need the AS clustering features. OK, that's clear. Figured it couldn't be that easy, but had to ask :) Not sure what you mean about the loader idea as locking and cache loading are separate aspects, but in any case the load semantic in the API sounds cleaner. Manik can better comment on this, but there's a big drive in 2.0 to reduce the number of methods in the API, so an alternative is some kind of Option to only use the read lock. [JBoss Seam] - Re: Question on SeamTest.Script

I use the microcontainer for the Seam. I think the trouble may be in Configuration of the Seam.Script or the Facesconfig. But i have not idea how to slove it. At least, the EntityManager and SessionBean's Test is ok. I've read the tutorial of Seam, especially the charpter 9 and 12 that is only one meterial i can get for the configuration and Test. In my option it is not easy to beginner which use the MAVEN. Thanks a lot for reading. What I am saying is that there is two usage patterns which force Hibernate to do puts into the cache. But to JBossCache, a put is a put is a put and as such always receives a write lock; it does not distinguish the purpose or the context of the put. (1) Hibernate loads data from the database and perfoms a put into the cache. This is the one discussed before. This is logically just a read. We are not putting a change of system state into the cache. Thus this should be a read lock to minimize contention. (2) User, via Hibernate, modifies some data requiring Hibernate to do a put into the cache to store the new state. This should be write locked.
