[EJB 3.0] - Service in Embedded Container

I have a class that has the @Service and the @Management annotations. Interface for the management annotation contains the method, public void start() throws Exception; When I start the container, I can see it deploys my bean, but it never calls the start method. Is there anything special that needs to be done to my start method to be invoked? [JBoss Seam] - When can @Logger be used?

Hi, We've just started to work with Seam by extending the examples provided in the distribution. We understood that Seam is providing a logger build on top apache.commons.logging. As described in the user documentation it can be used by putting @Logger private Log log; into the bean code. We've been trying this with a regular Java bean but the instance variable remains NULL all the time. Our question is, when is it possible to use this logger? Can this one only be used with (stateful/stateless) session beans or only with entity beans? We've even tried to add the Seam interceptor (@Interceptors(SeamInterceptor.class)) to our class, but the logger is still uninitialized. Could anyone explain the issue? [Messaging, JMS & JBossMQ] - MSSQL link to JMS in JBoss

Is there any to notify the server that there is a change in MSSQL data in a way of messageing.... like maybe in XML file.... I need to find a way to connects JBoss with MSSQL such that whenever there is a change in the DB, it will notify the server to trigger some event to ntify the client???? Julien - I don not know Michelle Osmond personally, so i cannot speak of specifics. but from what i gather, Michelle prepared a Portlet v1 compliant IPC mechanism as a thesis project and has released it to the public. it is a "message box" based model... i have heard from others on and off of this board that it works well, but i have not personally used it. If you are looking at changing the process or growing the process in the future, then a bpm engine makes more sense. [Beginners Corner] - JBoss connects MSSQL's notification services

Hi there, currently my project needs a way to notify the client whenever there are a certian changes in the databases. My project is using JBoss as the AS and MSSQL as DB. I realised MSSQL there is a notification services but I cannot find any way to link it to JBoss JMS. Since it is all on the backend I dont not want to use HTTP. Or is there any other ways to do it? I do not want to use a timed event since it does not happen very frequent. I really need a lot of advice.. Thanks a million!!!! One recommendation is please have internationalization in mind when you design the UI. I see that the edit icon on portlet title bar is replaced by word. This may have impact for users that do not understand English. I would prefer an image icon, with popup message (internationalize if possible). In this case even if internationalization of the popup message is not done, at least the user can guess what it means from the image icon. [Installation, Configuration & Deployment] - How to start the class when start up the jboss?

Hi all, My system is using jboss. i have the Test.ear in the jboss/server/default/deploy. the Test.ear contains some ejb.jar and the Test.war when start up the jboss, i will load the run the Test.ear and then create the Ejb. Now i need to monitor the time when the deliveryTime is meet, i need to auto send email to the client. My idea is create the Thread class to monitor to Time, but i don't know how to start the class.
