Hello Guys, I read your responses and I find myself in a similar situation as you bailey. I installed the latest JBossIDE, the Alpha1a version, into Eclipse 3.2. I am attempting to launch JBoss 3.2.4 with a manual deployment (outside of the IDE) using ANT. My problem is two teired. 1st. JBoss does not completely start when launched in Eclipse and I think it has to do with a NullPointerException being thrown on one the startup threads (timerThread): in the Timer.run() method...<see below> for some reason, a NullPointerException is generated in the "sychronized(queue)" call. The class documentation says this run() method is called repeatedly and that any subsequent calls after the first one has no effect on the queue object. I think the second call to this method's "synchronized(queue)" with the same queue object that was previously nulled out (queue.clear()) generates the exception. try doing a synchronized on an object who's value is null. public void run() { try { mainLoop(); } finally { // Somone killed this Thread, behave as if Timer cancelled synchronized(queue) { newTasksMayBeScheduled = false; queue.clear(); // Eliminate obsolete references } } } 2nd, after launching JBoss within eclipse, I am able to access the web console and the JMX console via an external browser...(http://localhost:8080/)... BUT when I try to execute my client app to connect to JBoss, I get this funky error "java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host:" when my client App attempts a JNDI name lookup...I know my app works fine because it works when I manually start JBoss outside of Eclipse. I guess for some reason, I cannot connect to the JNDI services when launching JBoss via the JBoss-IDE in eclipse.....ANY IDEAS? I mean at the bare minimum, if you UNDEPLOY your stateless session bean, @PreDestory needs to be called. My question is @PreDestory meant to be a per instance of a bean or when the entire pool is destroyed you call the @PreDestory....I'm not sure what the spec group was thinking here with respect to Stateless (Statefule beans I believe the meaning is clearer). I'm new to AOP myself, but the MethodInvocation class has methods to set and get Arguments. Hmm, I am able to log in as admin without any problems, and view the Admin page. Though with the number of lines of stack trace showing up in the console window because of the CMS Admin portlet, the response time is very undesireable. You could get the source from CVS and build it yourself. Roy has already fixed the problem, and I just verified the fix. Building from source is really easy, see the reference guide for instructions. Or you could switch to another database, I know that PostgreSQL 8.1 works with CR3 as is. [JBoss Seam] - Question on Injection by Factory

Somewhat of a small question. Class A has - @In(required = false, create = true) private Message message; However class A has no @Factory method. Class B has a @Factory("message") Message is a seam component .. so when i run code to call Class A ... Class B's factory also gets called. I assume this is normal behaviour since we wanted it to create it and searched out something to create??
