I have now used the web.xml and it works fine for me. There is a good JAASExample in the wiki. I can recommend it. Just one last question. I noticed that the j_security_check is the URL to which the request for a FORM login gets posted to. Is that a constant or can we change it? And how could I provide it to a <h:form> tag in JSF? [Management, JMX/JBoss] - Deployment event interception

Hello all, I don't know if this is the right topic but I try. I have to write an application that could be deployed on a Tomcat or on a JBoss instance and maybe more A.S. I'd like to know if there is a way to detect the application needs to be shutdown, to release all resources (threads and stuffs). Shall/can I write an A.S independent MBean to detect that ?? or shall I write an MBean for each kind of Server. is there an API to detect loading events ? if you needs some more information, let me know, I'm watching this topic. thank you. cheers!!! So what would you guys say: which jsf-implementation works better for seam? Right now we have the Sun JSF RI, Trinidad and myFaces (which I´m currently working with). In the seam documentation it is said, that trinidad is the better choice. Are there any major differences or any deviation from the standard specification between the alternatives, that should be kept in mind? What about future development? Do I have to be afraid that one of them won´t be developed furthermore? What are your experiences? Right now I´m at the very beginning of development, so it´s still time to change. I don´t wanna realize that I did the wrong choice when it´s too late and I have to do a lot of rework then. This is actually will have an indeterminate outcome. It will depend on a number of factors, including how the network heals. JGroups again has a lot of documentation on merging. The problem with the 'split brain' scenario you describe is that there is no way of knowing which version of the data is the more up-to-date one. Timestamps are of relatively little value (unless you have sync clocks, but even these could have gone out of sync during the disconnect). The only thing you can be sure of after such an event is that a subsequent write to the node (on either member) will bring them both in sync again. map the class? I don't have any xml files which describes how the classes are mapped. The classes are looking like this: @Entity @Table(name = "MyTable") public class MyClass { ... } I have thought that this is enough for the hibernate tools to figure out, how the classes are mapped.
