[JBoss Seam] - Re: How to postpone validation?

I tried it, but it does not make to seem a difference. And why would it? The fields which do not have any validation annotations aren't validated anyway. And the once which do should be validated, but only after the user clicked on the "Save" button. However, validation occurs always when he clicks the link. Do avoid this the only option is to use immediate="true", but then I loose the user's input. No matter if it's valid or invalid. Any other suggestions? [JBoss Portal] - Re: Portlet navigation with CMS.

Actually I do not need to create new content I just need to change what is currently displayed in the CMS portlet. I can't see any command in the API that allows me to do that. I know I could change the content just by using an URL but I need to change the portlet page on my portlet at the same time via the jbpm navigation. Hence how can I do both change the content of the CMS and change the page in my custom portlet at the same time in the same action? Then you put the name of your subclass into portlet.xml into element portlet-class. Obviously, also make sure the compiled class is in your application. +1 on the idea that stuff like @Length(min=3) triggers a validation error although required=true is missing if the field is empty! Is there an actual reason that this isn't the way it behaves? For the people who want custom validation messages for certain input fields: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/masterj2ee/j2ee_wk7.html (the "Adding Meaningful Field References" section) describes a way doing this by using a PhaseListener that customizes the validation messages based on parameter supplied by f:attribute tags inside the h:input stuff. Does anyone now if the above approach is performance expensive? Seam reference 13.8 "Configuring Seam in a Portal" should: mention TransactionalSeamPortletPhaseListener instead of SeamExtendedManagedPersistencePortletPhaseListener. Also, maybe it should mention not to use org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener. [JBoss jBPM] - JbpmThreadServlet and member threads

I was just looking at the JbpmThreadServlet source code (3.1.2), and noticed that there are two threads started by an instance of this class, and are stored as member variables: CommandExecutorThread commandExecutorThread = null; | SchedulerThread schedulerThread = null; | ... | public void init() throws ServletException { | ... | commandExecutorThread = new CommandExecutorThread(jbpmConfiguration); | commandExecutorThread.start(); | | schedulerThread = new SchedulerThread(jbpmConfiguration); | schedulerThread.start(); | } Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but although the SingleThreadModel servlet was dropped in newer Servlet specs (2.2 & newer or close as I recall) I believe that management of servlet instances isn't specified by the servlet spec, no? While I cannot necessarily name you a particular servlet engine that manages servlets through pooling vs. a single servlet instance (because I use almost exclusively Tomcat or embedded Tomcat in JBoss), I can imagine scenarios where you might want to. I believe that it is entirely legal according to the spec for a servlet engine implementer to have more than one instance of a servlet class in existence at the same time. As a result, wouldn't this implementation of the schedulerThread and commandExecutorThread be problematic, as they are tied to instances of this Servlet class, rather than tied as statics to the class itself? You'd have multiple SchedulerThreads and CommandExecutorThreads running at the same time, no? I'm guessing that since JBoss copied files as part of deployment, the links were resolved then. How does Class.findResource() work with sym links? This anyway sounds like a regression. There might be a way to get the old behavior.
