Thanks Prabhat. That works now. There already is a hsqldb-ds.xml file within the deploy directory which has the same information. Are these two files hsqldb-ds and portal-hsqldb-ds.xml each necessary? Actually, now I have a whole running portal application to deploy. It connects to a posgresql database and it has a mycomp-ds.xml under the deploy directory. I try to run it, and it gives the same error as I stated above. Should I have a portal-posgresql-ds.xml, when when I have a mycomp-ds.xml which has the datasource info to connect to the posgresql database? I wish to be clear about it. Thanks a lot. Are there any stack traces that depict an error? Perhaps if you increase your log level to TRACE? And can you consistently reproduce this, perhaps in a unit test? If a node fails during the 2-phase commit protocol, an exception is thrown internally by the comms layer. This is trapped and the transaction is marked for rollback, and the TM sees this and initiates a rollback. If the node does before the 2-pc protocol commences, then the tx does not fail; it just excludes the dead node from the cluster. There is no difference between a shutdown and a node crashing as far as the 2-pc protocol is concerned. If the node dies/is shut down in the middle of the 2-pc protocol, it will cause a rollback on the initiator of the commit. Else, it will be excluded from the cluster before the 2-pc commences. We detect dead nodes using JGroups' failure detection protocols - FD and FD_SOCK. See JGroups docs for details on this. The code that is causing the error should only be using the datasource named PicsDS (this is the db2 database on linux). It is other EJBs that use the other datasources. The sequence of events are... 1. client calls stateless session bean A method getBusinessUnitSubSystemWithInventory() 2. getBusinessUnitSubSystemWithInventory() calls through to another stateless session bean B method getUTInventoryNavigatorDAO(). Stateless session bean B was injected into A by the container. 3. B creates a new DAO with the Session that was injected by the container into B. This DAO returned to A. 4. Stateless session bean A calls getBusinessUnitSubSystemWithInventory() on the DAO which executes a named hibernate query with the Session. 5. The result of this query should be returned to the client. It is at the point the query is executed that the exception is thrown. [JBoss jBPM] - Userassignment problem

Hi, Could any body tell me about the "userassignment" problem ie., In JPDL file if i dont use swimlanes & users then how to assign the users for a particular task(work item). In our situation we have BPM_web.xml file,this xml contains all the users and roles for a particular process.We are using users and roles from this xml file.By using OBE related api we are calling the users and roles from that xml file. Now we are integrating with JBPM whether we have to define the users and roles in swimlane or directly by removing the swimlanes in JPDL file. Our assumption is we are removing the swimlanes concept in JPDL file and assigning the users by using JBPM api from the already existing BPM_web.xml file If this is the situation then how to retrieve the users from the database. we know that using setActorId() method we can retrieve the currently authenticated user. Is there any other way how to assign the users with out using swimlanes. Could any body tell me how the "USERASSIGNMENT" should be happened using JBPM api. NOTE : * we are not using JBPMStarters kit *by using jBPM api we are deploying the jpdl file. *we have BPM_web.xml file for assigning the users and roles *Manually we are entering users in the JBPM_USERS table. Please confirm whether we need swimlanes or not . [JBoss jBPM] - Looking for canonical arithmetic example processdefinition.x

Hello jBPM community Does anyone have a processdefinition.xml laying around that does something like the following: Allow for entry of a number, then in the next task increment that number (no entry required), and then in a decision, determine if the incremented value is even or odd, and then either goto a node "even" or "odd" ?? This canonical case has eluded me when using the designer, as exception gets thrown: org.jbpm.webapp.filter.AuthenticationFilter.doFilter(AuthenticationFilter.java:56) This would seem to imply that an "assignment" of the task must be made by form entry. You don't have datasource file in your deployment. You can get the file from sourceforge from one of the bundled distribution. It's portal-hsqldb-ds.xml. Or create a xml file with the same name and following content: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <local-tx-datasource> <jndi-name>PortalDS</jndi-name> <connection-url>jdbc:hsqldb:${jboss.server.data.dir}${/}portal${/}hypersonic${/}database</connection-url> <driver-class>org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver</driver-class> <user-name>sa</user-name> </local-tx-datasource> and copy this file in deploy directory.
