Hi Clebert, Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the stack trace I've already posted is all I have. There are no nested or linked exceptions. I looked at the exception in the debugger and found only nulls. Anything I can do to provide more information (e.g. raise the logging level)? One further thought: We are using the Binding Service to map the ports. This has already caused another problem with the upgrade to Messaging 1.0.1.SP2 (see http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=98390 ). Might this also be related in this case? Thanks petemuir, using a String for the value worked. Not sure why I didn't see that based on the stack. Also, I actually copied and pasted my code wrong. I didn't have the 'key' attribute at the same time as I had the converter configured. When I did it was a completely different exception. Why would you recommend a custom converter over using a key? I still can't seem to get the converter to work. Seems no matter where I put the jar file I get NoClassDefFound exceptions. I'll have to keep digging into this. But before I spend a lot of time trying to figure it out, it would be nice to know why it would be a better approach. BTW, the docs specify that both jars go in the WEB-INF/lib dir. You may want to update this if it is not the case. Thanks again for the help. Yes it is validated, but it is not as thoroughly validated as an offline schema validation tool. This is mainly because of the large performance overhead that is introduced. Currently we don't have an option to use a strict validator, although feel free to create a feature request for it. You could also implement this yourself using a handler that calls out to JAXP. I expected that I could look up all tokens at a particular node with the call; | Token t = i.findToken( THE_NODE_NAME ); | In fact, the token name is null. How should I design the process so that the Token will have a name I can search on?
