I wouldn't like switching to 2.0 because JBoss AS 4.0.5 has Microcontainer 1.0. I think the stateless bean is not important in the discussion. I don't understant how to use this Microcontainer. Spring was pretty easy. So I has beans I declared in jboss-beans.xml. To load them I need a kernel controller as Wiki says. Well, I create ActionFactory with the kernel controller in it and expected using it as a factory for other beans (defined in jboss-beans.xml). The question is how to create ActionFactory. If it was Spring I would use some factory class provided by Spring. But here I didn't find a common approach to get the class instance. [J2EE Design Patterns] - JBossService pattern or best practice?

I have a JSE application that streams data over raw sockets to remote clients, and I want to make this application's interface available to an ejb. It seems that I could refactor the stream manager/creator to use it as a JBossService, which would allow the ejb to easily find it. Also, my existing application could be remotely managed through jmx and I could ensure that the streaming application was started and available(or failed to deploy) before the ejb would need it. Is this an existing enterprise design pattern? How are custom JBossServices usually used? Is this best practice? Or is there a better way of integrating an existing jse app into a new web application? Thanks for any help. I'm still a newb to JEE design. Thanks again. I had the same problem. I downloaded a recent nightly build (jboss-seam-CVS.20070105.zip) and id attributes are now in the rendered HTML, but expressions in the attribute value don't seem to be evaluated. Other attributes like styleClass don't seem to have this problem.
