+1 to all that Norman says. But I just want to re-emphasize two points: (1) If you are building a loosely-coupled (SOA) application, absolutely nothing stops you using a more traditional layering. There is no problem having two layers of Seam components. (2) Especially with some of the new stuff in Seam 1.1 and 1.1.1, we are working towards the ability to be able to have a single component that can be called from a web page, or from a WS invocation. (3) Most importantly, Seam 1.2 will provide the integration of the Seam context model with invocation via the WS stack. jboss ide definitly support automatic generation of entity beans....see hibernate tools. visual JSF we don't have (yet); look at the jsf eclipse project which has something under way. [JBoss Eclipse IDE (users)] - Eclipse remote debugging crashes JBoss server JVM?

Recently I've run into a problem where when attaching remotely to the JBoss server via the Eclipse debugger, the JBoss JVM crashes after a few minutes. An excerpt from a dump file looks like a null pointer dereference (see below). The same does not occur when using the IntelliJ IDEA debugger. Anyone else seen this before? I have posed the same message over at ICEFaces. They have not responded to my posting, but other similar postings have the response that it is Seam related. Very frustrating. As for being intermittent - we can reproduce almost 100% of the time. Sorry, it was my fault in the wstools config file. I had to write WebService instead of WebServiceBean. Now I can see my web service in http://localhost:8080/jbossws/services I have another problem: if I deploy only the .jar file (containing also other EJBs), all works.
