[JNDI/Naming/Network] - Re: JNDI lookup for object in remote server returns local ob

The deployments seems ok as far as I can acertain. When I undeploy the Node ear from the Master jboss, the lookup to the remote Node works perfectly. If there was a problem with it not getting the remote instance, it should have produced an error in this case. But it gets the remote instance and executes without problem. Interesting thing is, starting Master JBoss without the node causes getting the remote Node. Hot deploying Node into master, still get remote node. Restart JBoss and I get the local Node again, not master. It's as if once I get a context, it doesn't get re-created, even though I did acquire a new context. Is it possible that the Context is a Singleton and that subsequent retrieval of contexts always return the same instance, regardless of the parameters I pass when asking for the context? Thank you - I've got it. Meantime I'm trying to explore org.jboss.seam.core.Manager sourcecode in order to get an answer about how seam determines if long conversation is active, but with no success ( Seems that restoreConversation() method looks at "conversationIsLongRunningParameter" in request parameters map, but what about the postback ? .... I think an answer to such question is a "key" for understanding seam conversations. Can anyone explain how does it work ? Is Seam instantiating your Home instance? If so, I would recommend looking at the timing of when Home is instantiated. You could do this by adding a method annotated with @Create and printing out a message. Home must be inserted into the conversation context AFTER the nested conversation is started (the event org.jboss.seam.beginConversation can be observed to determine when your conversation begins). The message says it cannot parse an xml document because it is not complete/well formed. Without the more detailed server.log (one exception is useless) it's hard to even tell which xml it is talking about. I'd guess it is the -ds.xml in your ear, since neither of the other two xml files you mention go through the ServiceController/Configurator. This does not throw an exception due to the behavior of an s:link. An s:link initiates a GET request which will only capture parameters passed in the query string (nothing is posted). If you look at the URL generated by your s:link you will see something like the following: .../page2.seam?conversationPropagation=begin As you can see, there is no conversationId included in the URL. This would indicate to Seam that a long-running conversation does not exist so promote the temporary conversation to long-running. This could either be a feature or a bug depending on how you look at it. I could imagine situations where this may be a useful feature, but it could definitely be confusing unless you know the finer details. In the case where you use join="true", the s:link will send the conversationId as part of the query string: .../page2.seam?conversationId=1&conversationPropagation=join Obviously if propagation="join" Seam looks for an existing long-running conversation when rendering the s:link (in contrast to propagation="begin").
