sorry it took me so long to reply.... 1) I tried using an s:link, with the same results, code is below | <s:link view="/userinfo.seam" value="User - Edit Current User" | <f:param value="#{user.id}" name="id"></f:param> | </s:link> | 2) Not sure why i would need a long running conversation (unless i am completely missing something). The scope is relatively small...the page is displayed, the validation fails on the page. It seems to me that the validation failure should return the page as a managed page, but then again, i could be completely off base. Sorry, didn't intend to belittle you... :( I have use the IPC mechanism to trigger an action on a remote portlet via WSRP based on the result of an action on a local portlet. As you can see in the documentation, nowhere is it required that the portlets be in the same web application since objects are referred to by their portal names (window name, page name, etc). Maybe you are referring to sharing data via the PortletSession application scope, in which case, you do indeed need to have all the portlets involved in the same web application? [JBoss Seam] - problems running new seamgen-created project

Is anyone else able to run a newly-created seamgen project? Seam from cvs head. Build seam, run seamgen. Deploy the project to Jboss 4.2.2. For me it explodes while starting up Identity, spitting out such large stacktraces that I'm having trouble diagnosing. Its happening in DelegatingUserProfileModule which you can remove from the config. You also need to update the mappings in profile-config.xml. The problem is that LDAP doesn't provide attributes for all the properties that portal stores for user. You can handle it in your own implementation. another option would be that you setup a servlet in portal-server.war that makes a include of your real ajax servlet in your war file. that would keep the portal session alive.
