I'm using EJB3 as is provided with GlassFish. I think the biggest factor was the Identity instance I'll go back to check if there are any others. When you enable availability on an application for a GlassFish cluster you get in memory session data replication across the cluster. As a result what is stored for session data needs to be Serializable. I noticed a Serializable exception being thrown pertaining to the Identity when it was attempted to replicate it although it does implement the Serializable interface. Perhaps there is some additional session state data that is not Serializable. All the ones that are outjected in our code are as far as I can tell. S.D. I experienced the same problem when I had log4j-1.2.8.jar in my classpath. When I replaced this with log4j-1.2.15.jar the problem went away. Thanks for the replay, per my testing it indicated the user still was able to revisit the GWT based application even the session == null && the principal == null. So my question is: Can JBoss container enforce the login after the logout in the GWT based app? if is not, how to enforce the login in GWT are there any practical approach? Hi Richard, It turns out that in JBoss 4.2.2 I need to include the name of my .ear file in the web service URL. So, for example, in 4.2.1, I could use this URL: http://myhost:8080/HelloWorld/HelloWorld But in 4.2.2, the above URL will not work unless I change it to: http://myhost:8080/MyEar-HelloWorld/HelloWorld where I've deployed the service in MyEar.ear. I found this by digging into the jboss-4.2.2-GA/server/all/data/wsdl directory. Was this an intentional change to the JBoss-ws package?
