I found for example http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/12/validator-for-multiple-fields.html but maybe on the blog you are refering to there is a better solution. We currently have multiple applications deployed under JBoss 4.0 with differing deployment requirements. We have been unable to move to 4.2 for this reason. Hopefully after the new year, we can move toward this, but in the mean time, I'm stuck in the land of legacy. You have to do this in the action method or write a custom validator. Someone did some post some code in a blog recently about how to build a JSF validator to generically compare two fields. i would suggest moving the code that needs to be initialized to a stateless session bean. that way you're mdbs won't have a long startup time. you could try configuring how many of those session beans are kept in the pool. Running Embedded JBoss from Maven is, I believe, currently tricky due to classpath problems. However, with care you can set up the classpath correctly I hope. You need only theses jars: *hibernate-all.jar *jboss-embedded-all.jar *jboss-deployers.jar *thirdparty-all.jar *jboss-seam.jar *jsf-api.jar *el-api.jar *activation.jar *jboss-embedded-api.jar *jboss-el.jar CavaetEmptor probably uses Embedded EJB3 unless Christian updated it recently...
