[JBoss Seam] - Conversation binding workaround

Hi, Currently I have a seam component "numberGuess" with Conversation.SCOPE. It has a binding that I want to use on the view page directly, but can't because of seam limitation. @Name("numberGuess") | @Scope(ScopeType.CONVERSATION) | public class NumberGuess implements Serializable { | private UIInput input; | } My view is as follows: <h:inputText binding="#{numberGuess.input}"/> I realize that conversation scoped components cannot be accessed through "binding" from the view, as discussed in the following posts: http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=97544 http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=99270 http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=97182 As a workaround the posts suggest that "Just do you bindings on an event scoped object and inject that object in." I am new to seam and would appreciate if someone could explain a bit more specifically how to accomplish the above. Do I need to create a new seam component with EVENT scope? Thanks in advance! Ok, I have made some changes. I've changed both nodes to have static IPs. Node 1 has IP 192.168.109.10 and node 2 has IP 192.168.109.11 >From node 1 if I execute "ping -L 224.0.0.1" I receive a response from 192.168.109.11 (node2) and vice versa. At the network level my multicast is working, but my response time varies from .02 ms to 4 ms. Could this be a cause of my problems? I understanding what is going on here - the setup works for us most of the time, but every now and again a request fails. In our login-config.xml (actually it's in a jboss-service.xml embedded in our JAR in an EAR) we have two LoginModules specified, the first is our own custom one, and the second is ClientLoginModule. The ClientLoginModule is attempting to keep the security stack correct by pushing upon successful login, and popping on logout. The problem in this case is that it is popping the wrong entry, because JaasSecurityManager has just put a new entry on the stack - the ordering is wrong. A probable answer is to dispose of the invalid cache entry before attempting to re-authenticate. We have been running our app with the cache timeout set to a very large number (100 days) to avoid previous problems and the app has been working perfectly, apart from the credentials being cached for inordinate lengths of time. I've found and fixed the previous problem, but having a small timeout causes this issue for us. I created the timer on a freshly installed jboss instance (so no prior timers) using the code below: timer = messageDrivenCtx.getTimerService().createTimer( | job.getFirstSchedTime(), job.getRecurringInterval(), job); Here recurring-interval is 1 hour (in milliseconds). After I got my first timer callback I restarted the server and saw the timer calback right away on restart. Multiple restarts of the server showed the same behavior. This is 100% reproducible. If we where using maven I would expect the exploded-deploy command to be something I can apply to the artifact jboss-portal.sar and maybe I did not need to ask ? No worries I understand maven is not "hot" for some developers at the moment. I would just like to see poms in the trunk, in order to getting the maven process started. Like it or not..... Maven can increase the market for the portal. yeap, it works on 4.0.4 one more question, dimtris: when I override the method "handleNotification", this event is captured by this method; however, as you suggested I comment out this method, the event then is captured by "handleNotification2".
