cron, I think the key question is: "what happens next"? If you're going to synchronously continue processing on the same process instance, then did you really need to commit it to the db at this point in time? If not, then don't do anything - just close it later. JBPM generally takes this approach - if multiple nodes and transitions can be executed synchronously, by default it won't commit any until all are done. This is a lot more efficient because it allows object caching across nodes within the transaction. [JBoss Portal] - how to re-deploy and clean out portlet configuration and dat

Hi all, I am deploying an instance of jboss forums portlet over jboss portal 2.4.1 (bundled release). If I create an instance of the portlet and put it in a page, modify the forum, and then I destroy the portlet instance and create a new one, I keep the same settings/data, eg. the forum is still the same. This seems to happen with any other portlet instance. How can I clean a portlet configuration/data ? Thanks Ronald, I checked the code and saw the key you're refering to : public ProcessInstance loadProcessInstance(ProcessDefinition processDefinition, String key); So, if I remove the status from the domain, and use that business key attribute to materialize the link between domain and process instance, what would be the elegant way of searching all the ITEMs in 'toBeValidated' Status (ie Node) ? : Call a custom query on Jbpm, get the matching nodes and use the associated business keys to load the corresponding domain entities ? I see that the API is rather Task oriented so I wonder if that would be a hint to another way of thinking this workflow integration. [Messaging, JMS & JBossMQ] - automatically truncate message table on server startup

Due to the constraints of my application, there isn't any need for me to preserve messages in a Queue when the application is bounced. As a matter of fact, persisting them across reboots will have the undesired effect of initiating a flurry of activity when the server comes online when all of the stacked messages all attempt to get processing time at once. Is there any configurable way for me to set the Queue to be flushed on startup or shutdown? I'm using JBoss 4.0.5 running under JDK 1.5.0_09 under Solaris. I am using Oracle version 9.2 for persistence.
