[JBoss Seam] - Re: Seam can't parse pages.xml without JBoss.com?

Parsing pages.xml is working fine with path pointing to jboss.com so I think the syntax of my pages.xml is correct. Somehow I still could not get Seam to read the DTD from JBoss' bin path. Do you by any chance put the DTD somewhere else? (I did change the path in the pages.xml as you pointed out). Perhaps the Seam team can have this DTD reside locally in the next version or have some other way around this problem. This is quite critical as I would imagine not all app would have Internet connection available in production. [JBoss Seam] - Data entry's backing bean not picking up entries on form

Hello, I have a situation where I am not sure how to debug it. Please help. I have an entry form where entry fields are mapped to a bean as followed: entry.xhtml <h:inputText id="teTradeId" value="#{tradeEntry.exchTradeId}" required="true" > | ... | <a4j:commandButton value="Add" action="#{tradeMgr.addTradeEntry}" reRender="tradeReportingPanel" /> | ... entry bean: @Name("tradeEntry") | @Scope(ScopeType.SESSION) | public class TdTradeEntry implements Serializable { | private String exchTradeId; | | @NotNull | public String getExchTradeId() ... | | public void setExchTradeId(String exchTradeId) ... | backing bean: @Stateful | @Scope(ScopeType.SESSION) | @Name("tradeMgr") | public class TradeManagerBean implements TradeManager, Serializable { | ... | @In @Out | private TdTradeEntry tradeEntry; | | public void addTradeEntry() { | // tradeEntry is always null in here | x = tradeEntry.getExchTradeId(); | ... | public TdTradeEntry getTradeEntry()... | | public void setTradeEntry(TdTradeEntry tradeEntry)... | | } For whatever reason, the injection of tradeEntry is always null which Seam would throw exception as anonymous wrote : Caused by: javax.ejb.EJBTransactionRolledbackException: org.jboss.seam.RequiredException: In attribute requires non-null value: tradeMgr.tradeEntry | If I was to declare the injection for tradeEntry with qualifier as (create=true) such as @In(create=true) @Out private TdTradeEntry tradeEntry; When I did this, all the fields in tradeEntry would be null. Am I doing something wrong with this model? [EJB/JBoss] - org.jboss.ejb.plugins.local.LocalHomeProxy

Ahh...I had a feeling there'd be a reason behind it. It's not a big deal at the moment and I could always implement further size restrictions in my business logic to restrict what we really accept. This isn't really doable because at the point in time where the file upload request is parsed there is no FacesContext, no view root, etc. What you could possible do though is configure multiple filters with different paths, each with their own max-request-size parameter.
