Multiple threads reading from and writing to the same cache. You don't necessarily need a TM for this - you can tell by looking at the lock owners - they're Threads, not GlobalTransaction instances. [JBoss Seam] - Beginner Question

Hi, I'm trying for a few days now to get the most basic things to work with Seam, but I fail miserably. I'm highly frustrated and of course try to find the missing piece of information here that I'm apparently lacking to get this to work. Now, the site displays and I can enter my name and email. But when I press the submit button, nothing happens. "register()" is not called on the Session, and neither "getRealName()" or "setRealName()" of the entity are called. Could somebody give me a hint what I'm doing wrong? So what you are saying is: you want to persist stuff in the database, but you don't want to persist stuff in the database? Well, you need to choose :-) Actually, an option is to set your HttpSession and SFSB timeouts much longer than the passivation time, and let the server serialize the intermediate states to disk. Do you really need a 4GB heap with a 2GB young generation? Bigger is not necessarily better when it comes to Java heaps. It does look like you are freeing up 2GB of garbage every 10 seconds, that is a lot of garbage. Some code must be generating that garbage. It also looks like your working set size is around 160MB. I would try setting Xms/x to 900MB and Max/NewSize to 300MB. Or perhaps 1200M/400M. Of course, at the rate your app is generating garbage that will cause GCs to occur more often. I've added a more comprehensive set of unit tests around isolation levels, but cannot recreate the 2nd failure you talk about above (with READ_UNCOMMITTED).
